NSCZ Shortlists for Sports Awards

Reinging Mr. Zambia, Sylvester Mwila, Chess International Master Daniel Jere and US based runner Gerald Phiri have been shortlisted for the National Sports Council of Zambia best sports man of the year 2011 Award.
Council board member Elliot Mhende announced the names at a media briefing in Lusaka today. Mhende says a team of senior sports producers sat to come up with the shortlist.
Lining up for the best sports woman is women’s national soccer team striker Mupopo Kabange, Judoka Esther Sandu and women chess master Epah Tembo.
The Junior sports man of the year is being competed for by 2011 COSAFA youth championship top scorer and Player of the tournament Evans Kangwa, motocross rider, Dima Fircks and Golfer Dane Moore.
In the womens it will be 10 year old black belt martial artist Tojana Mudenda, golfer Devansh Naik and Epah Tembo.
The Under 20 national soccer team and the junior swim team battle in the best team category.
The Awards will be held on 5th October at Lusaka’s Mulungushi International Center.
