The Football Association of Zambia-FAZ- has confirmed that the under-20 Africa Cup qualifier match between Zambia and Mali will go ahead, despite the country in national mourning following the death of wife of Zambia’s first president Kenneth Kaunda.

FAZ Communications Officer, Erick Mwanza says this is because the jurisdiction to postpone the match in such a period lies entirely in the Confederations of African Football-CAF-.

However, all league matches under FAZ scheduled for this weekend have been postponed.

The Chipolopolo under-20 national team will lock horns with Mali in the 2013 African Youth Championship third round qualifier on Saturday at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.

In respect of the national mourning, a minute of silence will be observed before the match and all Zambian players will wear black armbands.
