Zambia’s first republican president Dr. Kenneth Kaunda is to be discharged tomorrow from University Teaching Hospital following an illness.

UTH Managing Director, Lackson Kasonka, has revealed to MUVI TV News in a telephone interview that Dr. Kaunda has shown signs of improvement following checks made by medical personnel at the hospital.

On Saturday, funeral procession for his late wife Mama Betty Kaunda was postponed after he fell ill and was admitted to the UTH.

Dr. Kaunda started feeling unwell because of the suspected stress following the death of his wife.

Son of Dr. Kaunda Colonel Kaunda on Saturday assured the nation to remain calm as his father had gone through what he termed a stressful period.
