The trend is slowly reserving as the demand for the crop is gaining ground.

Some traders and farmers talked to have attested to the fact that rice is becoming a staple food in Zambia.

One rice farmer in Zambezi district in North Western province Chibbonta Chilala is happy with the growing rice market.
