Chipata Council Fails To Remove Vendors

The Chipata Municipal Council has failed to remove street vendors despite giving a week’s ultimatum which ended last Wednesday.
The local authority has refused to comment on why they have failed to remove the vendors from the streets.
But Caritas Chipata has accused area Member of Parliament Moses Mawere of encouraging illegality in Chipata by telling vendors to avoid relocation.
Caritas Governance Programs Coordinator Mthadziko Zulu says the MP’s move is tantamount to interfering with the councils operations.
