Some bus drivers at main bus station in Ndola on the Copperbelt have threatened to stop paying levy if the Ndola City Council does not collect garbage within the station.

There are mountains of garbage in the central business areas with the local authority attributing the failure to collect the accumulating waste to non availability of adequate refuse collection trucks.

Ndola City Council Director of Environment, Community and Health Services, Silumesi Siyanga, has pleaded with members of the public to be patient with the Local Authority, saying plans are underway to purchase new equipment next year.
