Chipata Livestock Farmers Ferrying Animals To Access Drinking Water In Malawi

Persistent water crisis in Chipata, Eastern Province has forced livestock farmers to be ferrying their animals to Malawi to access drinking water.
The local people say lack of dams for drinking water is leaving them with no option but to take the animals across.Headman Dzoole explains that this is a huge problem in the area as the only Dam available dam is far from the village and non-functional.
But Chipata Mayor Sinoya Mwale says the provincial administration will soon embark on the construction of dams, although the exercise is expensive.
