An obstetrician Gynecologist has expressed sadness at the increased levels of abortions in the society. Dr. Gundumure Tshuma says people should take into consideration that life begins at fertilization.

Dr. Tshuma says even as people submit to the technical committee on drafting the Zambian constitution on the reproductive rights, they should bear in mind that life begins at conception.

She has also advised expectant mothers to have regular antenatal checkups to avoid irreversible consequences.

Dr. Tshuma was speaking to Muvi TV News in Lusaka.
