President Rupiah Banda has embarked on an unannounced tour of flooded compounds in Lusaka. Mr. Banda was accompanied by Lusaka Province Minister Charles Shawa, Lusaka District Commissioner Christah Kalulu and other senior government officials. The president visited Kuku, Chawama, Chibolya and Kanyama compounds to see for himself the devastation the floods have caused on the residents of Lusaka. President Banda also visited the independence stadium where more than six hundred flood victims are temporarily camped.
