LAZ To Revoke Prominent Lusaka Lawyer Nicolas Chanda’s Practicing License
The Law Association of Zambian LAZ Has hinted its intention to suspend prominent Lusaka Lawyer Nicolas Chanda’s Practicing licence due to his unsound state of mind.
LAZ president George Chisanga says, the association has already written to the legal practitioners committee to consider suspending Mr. Chanda’s licence.
Mr. Chanda was recently sent to prison for 10 days by the Lusaka Magistrate Court after the bench warrant was executed for failure to appear in court in a matter he is alleged to have obtained money by false pretenses.
He was, however, pardoned after spending one night in prison as lawyers from LAZ who represented him in court argued that Mr. Chanda was of unsound mind.
Mr. Chanda is alleged to have obtained K42, 000 by false pretenses and had not been appearing in court to represent his clients.
