Livingstone Job Seekers Protest Over Zambia Army Recruitment
The angry youths blocked Mosi-Oa-Tunya road with logs and stones causing traffic jam and later set the logs on fire.
They claimed that the recruitment exercise was allegedly marred with nepotism and corruption.
There was a sharp reaction from Southern Province Minister Obvious Mwaliteta over the allegations saying the whole exercise needs to start afresh.
Mr. Mwaliteta assured the youths that government will probe the matter.
Zambia Army spokesperson, Chris Musonda, has since refuted allegations in the media suggesting that its recent advert on the recruitment exercise discriminated against women with children by stating that applicants should be single and without children.
