UPND President Hakainde Hichilema and his Vice President for Administration Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba have allegedly been denied access to visit their detained officials at Kitwe’s Kamfinsa Prisons.
Kamfinsa Commanding Officer-in-charge James Nkoloma said he received instructions from higher authorities for the duo not to be allowed to be visit the detained members.
Mr Hichilema and the entourage arrived at Kamfinsa Prisons at exactly 10 hours and were made to wait for over three hours before being told to just return to Lusaka as they will not be allowed to visit their members.
And addressing UPND members who had accompanied him, Mr Hichilema described the move as dictatorship and an infringement of human rights especially that the Zambia Commission of Prisons’ office granted the UPND leadership access to visit the arrested party members earlier in the week.
