Relatives of shot security guard Namakau Kwenda have reneged from an earlier decision in which two female family members wanted the case to be settled outside court.
Family Spokesperson Pumulo Mabengano says such a decision is contrary to the law.
Mr Mabengano says the stance by the family is for justice to prevail in the case as it is a criminal offence.
Kwenda was in the early hours of Saturday May 6, 2017 allegedly shot dead by Chilanga Member of Parliament Keith Mukata at his office in Lusaka’s Rhodespark residential area.
The Chilanga lawmaker has since been warned and cautioned together with his wife Charmaine Musonda.
