Farmers in North Western Province have vowed to withhold their maize realized from the 2016-2017 farming season, describing the K60 floor price by Food Reserve Agency as demeaning and shameful.
They say it is sad that government is indirectly discouraging farmers when at the same time preaching economic diversification.
And Caritas Zambia, North Western Province coordinator John Kalusa has appealed to relevant authorities to consider the plight of the farmers.
