Arresting Officers Testifies In Old Woman’s Rape Case

The arresting officer has testified in a matter in which Moonga Hawizu
raped an 87 year-old woman of situmbeko village.

Chuma Mahimbo told the court that on 22nd January, 2019 she was told
to investigate the rape case of Moonga.

She said that she interviewed the accused in connection with the
offence, which he denied the charges.

Chuma also presented the documents to the court, which confirmed that
the victim was raped.

Particulars of the offence are that 32-year-old Moonga Hawizu on 16th
January, 2019 between the hours of 10 to 11 did break into the house
of the old woman and forcibly raped her.

However, magistrate Sheila Mweene adjourned the matter to 16th July,
and 1st August, 2019 for continuation of trial.
