Mixed Reactions To Fall Of Bill 10

Transparency International Zambia -TIZ- is delighted with the collapse of bill 10 alleging that the bill does not carry majority citizens’ aspirations.

TIZ Executive Director, Maurice Nyambe has since recommended the Members of Parliament who listened to the people’s plight and voted against the bill.

Mr. Nyambe says this should act as a lesson to Government that being in power does not give them the right to oppress citizens.

Meanwhile, Consortium Alliance Members are displeased with the outcome of the bill and have charged that it was the work of the Opposition United Party for National Development – UPND.

Representing the consortium leader of New Congress Party, Peter Chanda says UPND is an enemy of progress that is in politics for their own selfish desires and gains.
