Over K450 Million Raised From Road Toll Gates As At End Of 2016

Over Four Hundred and Fifty Million Kwacha was raised from road toll gates as at the end of 2016.
The National Road Fund Agency Acting Executive Director Wallace Mumba says the money was raised from the Kafulafuta, Manyumbi and Kafue toll stations which were commissioned in 2016.
Mr Mumba has also disclosed 2017 will see new Toll sites at Levy Mwanawasa between Ndola-Kitwe Dual carriage way, Garnerton between Kitwe and Chingola, and the other one between Kapiri and Mkushi.
He says new toll gates will also be placed between Kasama and Mbala, Solwezi-Mutanda road, Nyimba-Katete and Katete-Chipata road.
Effective January 1, 2017 tolls fees have been increased with small cars now paying 20 Kwacha, while K40 is the new fee for minibuses.
The new fee for Tracks has now been pegged at K150 with abnormal loads paying K500.
