Cannabis Cultivation Still Illegal In Zambia-DEC

The Drug Enforcement Commission-DEC says cannabis cultivation is still illegal in Zambia.
DEC Public Relations Officer Theresa Katongo says the Commission has been receiving numerous queries from members of the public following Home Affairs Minister Stephen Kampyongo’s statement on medicinal cannabis.
Ms. Katongo says cultivation of cannabis will only be allowed for those with lawful authority.
She has warned that DEC will continue with its mandate of arresting persons found cultivating cannabis without lawful authority.
