ZEMA Challenged To Rectify Chibwe Forest Degradation

Kapiri-Mposhi district commissioner, Peter Mwinde has called on the Zambia Environmental Management Agency -ZEMA to rectify the ongoing environmental degradation in Kapiri-Mposhi’s Chibwe forest.
Mr. Mwinde has observed with sadness that people involved in sand mining activities are failing to adhere to rules and regulations governing mining activities.
Meanwhile, sand dealers have accused forest officers of being corrupt.
The dealers say officers from the forest department are in the habit of demanding money from them without issuing a receipt.
