LCC Confirms Engaging Private Firm In Parking Fees Collection

The Lusaka City Council has admitted that it has appointed Parkrite Zambia limited to manage the parking in the Central Business District with effect from 10th October, 2016.
LCC Public Relations Manager, Habeenzu Mulunda says the move is towards achieving what he terms the Smart Park Africa initiative. He adds that the move is in line with the need to sanitize and decongest the Central Business District to allow for better and safer parking system.
Mr. Mulunda says the manual parking fee collection system shall continue up to the end of the year before the automated system comes in to effect.
This is contained in a statement made available to MUVI TV news by Mr. MULUNDA.
Many motorists have questioned the council’s move to engage a private company to collect parking fees which has seen an increase in the fees.
