Tazara Resumes Operations

Tanzania-Zambia Railway Authority has resumed its passenger train operations in Zambia.
Operations were suspended on 20th January following a strike by unionized employees who were demanding for a salary hike on the Zambian side.
TAZARA Head Public Relations Conrad Simuchile has disclosed the development in a press statement made available to ZANIS in Chinsali.
Mr. Simuchile says the train operations has resumed following a consensus reached between Management and the two workers’ Unions of TAZARA, during a meeting convened by the Ministry of Labour in Lusaka.
