The Lusaka water utility company has sunk four boreholes in Chongwe district to mitigate water challenges in the area.
Speaking to journalists in Chongwe, Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company Acting Public Relations and Marketing Manager, Nshamba Muzungu, says the project when complete will supplement the area’s water needs during the dry season.
Mr. Muzungu says the project is likely to be completed by the onset of the dry season.
Chongwe has been experiencing erratic water supply for several years, mainly as a result of the Chongwe River drying up during summer.
