Employees Fear For The Worst Following Power Tariffs Hike

Zambia Federation of Employees – ZFE says the negative effects of increased electricity tariffs will work against the attainment of the 2017 budget and macroeconomic objectives.
ZFE President Wesley Chikwanda notes with displeasure that the increased tariffs will also not support economic diversification and job creation which the budget had proposed.
Mr Chikwanda further says the cost of production in all economic sectors will rise and the potential for business expansion and employment creation in these sectors will be eroded.
