Mhuru Advises Government To Graduate Social Cash Transfer Beneficiaries

The Civil Society for Scaling up Nutrition-CSO-SUN has called on government to create a programme that will allow social cash transfer beneficiaries to graduate from the scheme and become self-reliant.

Country Coordinator, Matthew Mhuru in an interview with Muvi Tv says the current system of transferring K90 monthly to vulnerable persons is not helping in alleviating poverty.

The Social cash transfer scheme was introduced in 2003 with an objective to reduce extreme poverty and intergenerational transfer of poverty among beneficiary households.
