Tayali Finally Granted Bail By The Lusaka Magistrate Court

Economic and Equity Party President, Chilufya Tayali has finally been granted bail by the Lusaka magistrate court after spending about six days in custody for allegedly defaming the President.

Tayali 47, of Lusaka’s Roma area is facing one count of defamation of the president contrary to section 67 of the penal code chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.

And when the matter came up for plea before magistrate Alice Walusiku, he pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Matter has since been adjourned to 23rd June, 2021 for commencement of trial.
